It has been tough to play the last two weeks... feels more important to understand what's going on in the world (not that I can do anything about it). I'm getting an accordion session each day, but my 3/day practice schedule is gone. When I
do play it's good -- things are percolating in the background -- but I can't justify pulling my mind away for a few hours each day. Not yet.
Received the Arbiter set yesterday, and have the bass and hi-hat set up... feels natural. I have no idea of the natural tone or playing of the hi-hat though... it's easy enough to close on the backbeat, but I know there's much more there.
Had a nice session with Pete Grant before the User Group the other night... would have been good to play for two hours, drink some beer, and play for four more, but what can you do? Some rags have started to get nice and loose, a whole new conception

Haven't been playing accordion much at all this week... focused on current events, reading, radio and TV simultaneously. Haven't even played the CD. I do get about a session a day on the box, and I've made progress on four-to-the-bar bass parts, finally starting to get a good swing bounce on those tunes. I've also been playing bones, sticks, shakers, working two different instruments simultaneously. Arbiter Drums did not arrive Saturday, probably Tuesday. Interim period.
